About: The North West Province N12 Ultra Marathon is an annual marathon event to ever bless the North Western part of the South African Road Running Calendar, organised and executed between two (2) cities in the North West Province, Potchefstroom and Klerksdorp.
The N12 National Road between the two cities provide the best and ideal road running experience, with a distance that would be merged with a few turns in and around the city to create the total distance of 50Km.
Besides the staggering Prize Money of more than R100 000 for the 50Km category winner, the Scenery is something to behold, as explained by participants who came from all parts of the continent, to run the inaugural 2022 edition of the event and scattered amongst 4 distance categories of 5Km Fun Walk / Run, 10Km Endurance, 21Km Endurance and the Main 50Km Ultra distance.
The 2022 and 2023 Marathon event was able to attract more than 2000 registered combined, participating Local and International athletes from as far as Kenya, Ethiopia, Lesotho, Eswatini and Botswana.
