Charity fund-raising:
The event is organised and marshalled entirely by volunteers. The main charity which benefits from the event is the Shakespeare Hospice. We announce a few other main beneficiaries on our website nearer the time of the race. Contributions for the assistance of volunteer marshals also go to good causes

What you can do for charity:
If you obtain sponsors for your run, you can raise a lot of money for your chosen charity. We think this is very worthwhile but the decision is yours.

Safety:
We take great care to organise a safe race with road closures at key points. There is a doctor on duty all day and full cover by St John, courtesy cars and about 180 marshals and other helpers around the course. But you run at your own risk and it is up to you to ensure that you are fit to run and have done sufficient training for the mileage you propose to do.
