About:
The Old Eds 21 began in 1980 and has become one of the most sought after races to compete in. It is an ideal race for those who ran Comrades to start their preparation for City to City. The race is run through the tree lined suburbs of Houghton, Illovo and Killarney, and although originally a one lap race, due to road closures and security being more pronounced in some places, it is now run over a two lap course. The race has grown in popularity over the years, and now attracts upwards of 3000 runners with the 10 km race now being part of the day. It is an ideal course for the novice or beginner to run as there are very few hills. The run in is a gentle downhill run to ease the aches and pains at the end!
The day is usually blessed with fine spring weather. |
