Salomon are running a brand new event taking place in beautiful scenic routes across the UK at sunset, the most magical time of day.
The Series will start at the stunning Harewood House estate in Leeds.
What is trail running?
It is simply about taking your run off the pavement, from running round your local park, to the forest or countryside. Trail running is accessible; often runners have found a trail just minutes from their home or place of work, which they never knew existed. Your trail doesn't have to be out in the wilderness, cities and urban areas of the UK almost always have some accessible trails and green areas. Whether you live in or outside the city it is about taking your run off the road and into nature, enjoying surroundings and experiencing a different route.
Why take part?
Running on trail takes away stress from the impact that you'd normally get running on road or harder surfaces, it improves core muscles and stability as you are navigating different surfaces and terrain.
The de-stressing trail running can offer is widely recognised. Removing the traffic, city noises and crowds and replacing with beautiful scenery, sounds of nature and trees rustling in the wind provides an entirely different experience; and a level of escapism which is hard to achieve in road running.
The location and route:
Only 8 miles outside of Leeds city, the Harewood estate provides a sense of escapism and natural beauty that's perfect for a Saturday evening trail run. Runners will work their way through a 10km route across expansive grasslands, bridlepaths, and forest trails to finish the race with a viewpoint over Harewood House at sunset. |
