About: Dorothy Nyembe Marathon in Dundee is celebrating Reconciliation Day by bringing the community together through fitness and reunion of all Nations. What better way to spend the day than by running while giving back for a great cause? The event consists of a 5km, 10km, 21km Half Marathon or 42.2km Marathon. The marathon will start from the Ncome Museum at the Blood River Heritage Site at 6h00 and has a 6-hour cut-off. The 10km starts at 6h30 and the 5km at 7h30. All races finish at the Dundee Oval Stadium. Walkers are welcome. DOROTHY NYEMBE was one of a generation of forceful women whose courage, energy and commitment helped to bring down the regime of apartheid. She spent 18 years in prison in South Africa during the bleakest period of "the struggle". The race is a Comrades Qualifier and results will automatically be uploaded as your qualifying time to your Comrades entry.
