About: In celebrating Nelson Mandela's legacy, we invite you to join us for the last Official Centenary Celebration for 2018 at the Mandela Remembrance Walk and Run this year, which will be held on 9 December 2018 from 7am.
Following the success of last year's event, we will now also be offering a 21km run along with the 10km run and 5km walk; runners and walkers of all abilities are invited to join us at the Union Buildings, a fitting venue to celebrate Tata Madiba's legacy.
There will be a dedicated kids zone, so the little ones will be entertained, as well as live entertainment with top South African Artists and DJ's and plenty of food options to keep everyone entertained for the entire day. For those wanting to keep the heart rates going, you can join us for some aerobic action on the lawns!
In line with the centenary celebrations, we are inviting everyone to come and join us and #BeTheLegacy and honour Tata Madiba's life and his contribution to South Africa.
Discovery Vitality members participating in this year's Mandela Remembrance 10 & 21km Walk and Run on 09 December 2018 will earn up to 600 fitness points for completing the 10km event and 1500 fitness points for completing the 21km event. Points will be automatically awarded and will take up to four days to reflect on the Vitality Points Monitor. The 5km event is not being timed.
