About:
Ultra-runners are invited to take on Ultra Scotland in this LANDMARK 50 Mile or the 100 Mile race along the Southern Upland Way, taking in some of the greatest trails in Scotland. Starting at St John's Town of Dalry, home of the Covenanter's Burning Bush; the forests, valleys and majestic mountains of Southern Scotland await.
The 50 Mile race with 2625m of ascent takes in the Striding Arches of Benbrake, the Covenant's memorial at Allan's Cairn, the town of Sanquhar, and the highest village in Scotland Wanlockhead, surrounded by its wonderful scenery and with the ascent of Lowther Hill (701m) awaiting in the distance. Runners finish in Beattock. The 100 Mile race has 4907m of ascent and also takes in Craigmichen Scar via Croft head and Cat's Shoulder prior to the trail making its way over to the beautiful St Mary's Loch, Tibbie Shiels, Minch Moor and the Three Brethren.
There's a choice of TWO distances and 'Optional' transport back to St John's Town of Dalry at the finish line of both respective races (Arranged at an additional cost.)
Both races have 'live online GPS tracking' of each runner via GB Race Tracker, fantastic support with Checkpoints spread out over Southern Scotland, ITRA points attached and are both UTMB Qualifying races.
