#GBUltras are proud to announce the 2nd Edition of the 100 Mile Beacons Way Ultra TRAVERSING the Brecon Beacons National Park!
Starting from the Heart of Abergavenny amongst the majestic remains of Abergavenny Castle, and with 10 checkpoints spread out along the glorious 100 mile course, the Beacons Way Ultra is a beautiful opportunity to test yourself against the best of the Brecon Beacons!
With 6143m (20100 ft) of ascent, the Beacons Way is the 'Official trail' of the Brecon Beacons National Park possessing some of the finest scenery in Great Britain. Factor in maximum support from the GB Ultras team and Live Online GPS Tracking via GB Race Tracker and you have all the credentials of a truly EPIC ultra-marathon.
With kind permission and support from the Brecon Beacons National Park, Abergavenny Castle, Monmouthshire Council, the Black Mountains Partnership, Natural Resources Wales, Welsh Water, Honorary Artillery, Wernddu, the National Trust, Duke of Beaufort's Estate, Llanthony, Court Farm, Llanddeusant, Cnewr Estate amongst many other landowners.
Runners take on Ysgyryd Fawr, also known as the Skirrid and the Holy Mountain, a place rich in myths and legends, before their journey continues to Talybont, Pen y Fan (886m - the highest mountain in South Wales), Corn Du, Fan Hir, Fan Brycheiniog and Carreg Cennen Castle.
In true GB Ultras tradition, there is also the opportunity to take part in FOUR completely 'Free of Charge' training runs in the lead up to the Event to ensure maximum confidence of the route prior to Race day and to further support runners taking on the challenge. There is also OPTIONAL 'Coach transport' available from the Finish venue back to Abergavenny after the Race (Option available upon Sign Up).

100 Mile: 40 hour cut off - 10 pm Sunday
Top 50 finishers earn a Gold 'Beacons Way Ultra 100' Buckle, 51-100 finishers earn a Silver 'Beacons Way Ultra 100' Buckle and 101+ finishers earn the Bronze 'Beacons Way Ultra 100' Buckle.
There are additional prizes for the Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female finishers.
