About:
The primary event is the Cottesloe Classic Mile, a 1600m ocean swim starting and finishing at Cottesloe Beach, first held in 1984 and conducted by the Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club Inc. We now also offer additional races of 3000m and 400m to cover swimmers of all ages and abilities.

Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club (Cottesloe SLSC) is Western Australia's first surf life saving club. Established in the spring of 1909, Cottesloe SLSC is among the first surf life saving clubs in Australia and was instrumental in the Surf Life Saving movement in Western Australia.

Important Information:
- Wetsuit wearers are not eligible for prizes

- Minimum age is 12 years for both the 1600m and 3000m races, and 9 years for the 400m event, all ages being taken on race day.

- Late entries will be accepted on Race Day from 6am until 8:00am for the 400m (cost is $25), and both 1600m and 3000m races (cost is $40).

- Late entries will be eligible for race prizes but not for spot prizes.

Course Guides:
1. The 400m course is M shaped, with a wade section at halfway, and turning right-hand around the Pylon towards the finish line in front of Indianas.



2. The 3000m course will start in waist-depth water in front of Indianas, and will turn left around the groyne and head South to a turnaround near Pearse Street, and then head North to meet the 1600m course, following the same path to the finish line.

3. The 1600m event will start in front of Indianas and head out to sea, turning right around markers and then North to a turnaround near Eric Street, returning outside the reef and turning left-hand around markers towards the finish line in front of Indianas.
