ENTRIES ARE NOW SOLD OUT

The only way of a place becoming available is through the transfer process, this works as outlined below:

If you are looking for a place in this years race or you have a place and can no longer take part you need to find yourself someone to swap with! Feel free to put a post on the race Facebook page to find someone if you don't have anyone already lined up.

Spaces usually appear in the couple of months running up to the event itself as people realise they have other commitments, are injured, or haven't done enough training. Once you've found someone:

  • The original entrant deactivates their place by logging into the entry portal (the login details and link to the entry portal are provided in the confirmation e-mail)

  • The original entrant clicks on the 'Transfer Entry' button and follows the on screen instructions to create a transfer voucher. This deactivates the place of the original entrant

  • The original entrant provides the transfer voucher to the new entrant

  • The new entrant enters by clicking on the Enter button below and completes the entry form

  • At the end of the process the new entrant inputs the transfer voucher and completes the transfer

  • All you need to do then is sort the money out between yourselves

  • Transfers need to be completed by midnight, 18th of May 2022

  • Cader Idris Mountain Race, 11 miles, 3000ft ascent, Saturday 21st May 2022, Eldon Square Dolgellau, 1pm start. Dolgellau can be found off the A470(T) at grid ref SH728177 (outdoor leisure 23) in the South of the Snowdonia National Park at the head of the Mawddach estuary. Plentiful car parking is available just on the edge of town at the Marian (pay and display). Race HQ is in the centre of town in the Free Library next to the start finish area LL40 1PS. Registration opens from 10am. All race numbers must be collected on race day, nothing will be sent out by post, registration closes at 1130.
If you are unable to run once entered you will not be able to hold your entry over to the following year. You can however transfer it to another runner and full instructions on how to do this will be on the bottom of your race entry email confirmation. Runners cannot race using someone else's number unless details have officially been transferred.

Keep updated with the event on our Facebook page:.

    Race Rules:

Under WFRA rules, all competitors must carry:

Full wind/waterproof body cover, map, compass and whistle, Additional items including hat and gloves may be required depending on the weather (so bring them just in case).

A random kit check will take place pre and post race - you have been warned - those failing to carry the full kit throughout the event will be disqualified.

Minimum age on race day 18.

Cut off time on ascent of 1hr 15mins at the top of the Pony Path SH691136 (if you walk you'll miss the cut off and be turned back before the summit).

Race numbers must be pinned to the chest, unfolded.

Runners should have experience of mountains and an appreciation of the changeable conditions that can be encountered, and should have confidence in their abilities to cope with whatever conditions prevail. A weather forecast is provided on race morning.

In extreme conditions the race may be shortened.

The route is well marshalled but the mountain is unmarked. In fair weather and good visibility the mountain navigation is unchallenging, however the section between Cyfrwy and the summit needs care in mist and high winds in both directions. Navigation may be required.
