About:
The Golden Gift is an iconic event for our region, which contributes social, cultural and economic benefits to the town and the Goldfields region. The weekend attracts world class athletes to compete in the foot races, other activities include horse races, fireworks, live music and the Golden Wheels cycle race, among other things.
A small outback town, elite athletes, $65,000 up for grabs, a bitumen street as the track. Combine this with a lawn bowls tournament, the Inland Art Prize, fireworks, market stalls, bands and street entertainment all weekend for the kids and you have yourself the outback experience that is Leonora's Golden Gift Carnival!

Please note that only runners identified by Runner's Tribe can enter the Elite Golden Gift Mile.

Update for Australia's Richest Mile Running Race, the Leonora Golden Gift.:
Regarding the elite mile, out-of-state athletes will be allowed to compete (upon approval by the event director) if they have been in WA for over 14-days before the event on June 5th-6th. Enquire for more info. Travel assistance is available.

COVID-19:
The Leonora Golden Gift fully complies to WA Health regulations and have both approved risk management and COVID-safe plans in place for the event. If you or anyone in your travel party are feeling unwell please to not attend. All competitors and event attendees will be asked to check in on their SafeWA app upon arriving at the event. Any updates regarding COVID and event changes will be posted here and on the event website.
