Koster Marathon Club is proud and excited to present the Inaugural Annual Bill Rowan Three Bridges Ultra Marathon official road running race duly sanctioned by the Provincial Federation, Athletics North West North of Athletics South Africa, the National Federation responsible for Athletics in South Africa.
The Bill Rowan Three Bridges Ultra Marathon 50km is an official road running race which incorporates the10km and 5km for provincial championships qualifications and also as Fun Run and Walk races. The race is also an official qualifier for the iconic Comrades Marathon and Two Oceans Marathon.
This long standing, much awaited and prestigious Annual Community Athletics Ambassador Calendar Event is in acknowledgement and recognition of the Koster born legendary Bill Rowan's achievements and contribution to athletics especially road running race in South Africa.
The organizers of the race and their partners also pay tribute to the Three (3) Bridges linking the three (3) towns which represent mainly the landmarks of mostly agricultural Kgetlengriver Local Municipality.
Most importantly the introduction of this Annual Marathon Event represents the birth of community athletics in this part of Die Platteland of North West Province and South Africa.
Race Details
1. Club Gazebos are all welcomed
2. The start will be at Derby and finish in Swartruggens.
3. Refreshments stations shall be provided at every 3km intervals.
4. Dustbins at all water points.
5. Distance markers will be placed for every km, 50km, 10km & 5km
6. First aid will be available at the start and the finish points.
7. The cut-off time for the main race 50km is 7hrs, 10km is 2hrs & 5km is 2hrs
8. Price giving will start at 12h00.
9. Race number collections at Lekkerbek and Biltong Coffee Den in Koster (NWK Kooperasie) on 28 September 2024 from 08h00 until 18h00.
10. Parking will be available with security guards on sites.
