About:
One of the oldest and most scenic marathons in the Western Cape, the Balwin Sport Peninsula Marathon takes in the length of the Cape Peninsula, starting in Green Point and finishing at the historic Simon's Town Naval Sports Ground. The route is fast and flat, taking in a glorious sunrise and roughly 15km of running along the stunning False Bay coastline towards the finish line. The event is an Abbott age group World Rankings qualifier.
There is also a 21.1km starting at Dreyersdal Farm, Bergvliet and heading to the same finish in Simon's Town.

- Substitutions will be accepted up to the closing date for entries. No substitutions or late entries will be accepted at Registration
- Race numbers and bibs can be collected at Venue TBC (Tokai, Rondebosch, Tygervalley, and Somerset West) on Friday, 16 February 2025 from 12h00 - 17h00 and on Saturday, 17 February 2025 from 10h00 - 17h00.
- No race number collection on race morning
- Free race shirts will be given to the first 1000 42.2KM runners and 1000 21.1KM runners. Race shirts are capped at a total of 2000. Celtic Harriers Club reserves the right to substitute sizes selected.
- ASA marathon awards will be limited to athletes officially entered by their province.
- Athletes participating in the ASA marathon championships will be eligible for all race prizes in addition to the ASA marathon championship awards.

The Chaeli Campaign is an award-winning social justice organisation working in disability rights advocacy and support. With two decades of experience in the sector, The Chaeli Campaign is committed to empowering disabled people in all aspects of life, as catalysts for change, building more inclusive communities. In 2012, Chaeli Cottage Preschool opened and as a fully inclusive preschool, is the epitome of The Chaeli Campaign's ethos and mission. Inclusion cannot be learned, it has to be lived. The Cape Peninsula Marathon support will go towards the Chaeli Cottage Preschool Scholarship Fund, ensuring that disabled children access their right to education. Every child deserves to feel a sense of belonging; learning from their peers in a place that values, fosters, and celebrates them. Chaeli Cottage Preschool is that place that services as an NPO to the Elderly who come from all walks of life. At DMH we appreciate the contribution that the elderly made while they were young. We want to ensure that the twilight stages of their lives are lived with pride, comfort, and dignity. We are making a difference for up to 80 individuals by providing personal care, compassion, and support during their hour of need. |
