About: Haenertsburg Rotary Club presents the Makgobaskloof Plunge 2025
The 42.2 km Plunge and 21.1 km Half; a 10 km Run and 5 km Fun Run
42.2km from Haenertsburg to Tzaneen; total rise +- 390m and fall of +- 1100m. After a 2 km warm-up around the village the route joins the R71 eastbound starting with a 3 km climb. You'll be running on the shoulder of the westbound lane, facing any oncoming (local) traffic. After a further 12 km of ups and downs the course descends Makgobaskloof in 6 km to the Lowveld where you will find the next 9 km again undulating. The climbs ease off for the remaining 14 km of the route on the R71, R36 and streets of Tzaneen. A taxing run when combined with the Lowveld summer temperature and humidity.
We will have 15 water points, initially 3.5 km apart but closer intervals approaching the finish. There will be field toilets at the Start and at the 31 km, 21 km and 10 km to go stations along the route.

10 km: 06h30 at Allesbeste Padstal R71 near km marker 88.0E (-23.80262; 30.12193)
5 km: 07h30 on Annecke Street 85 metres from the R528 T-junction (-23.83605, 30.13320)
All races finish at Letaba Rugby Club on the Tzaneen Showgrounds and will be timed.

2) Tzaneen : Food Lovers Market, cnr Bert Booysen & Loop Streets -Thursday 20th November 2025 from 16h00 to 18h00 and on Friday 21st November from 14h00 to 18h00
3) Rotary Clubhouse, Haenertsburg - Friday 21st November 2025 from 14h00 to 18h00 and Saturday 22nd November (for 42km only) 04h00 to 05h00
All race numbers not collected at one of the above points can be collected at the start points up to half-an hour before the race starts.
All finishers will receive a medal. 42.2km cut-off 6 hr.
