ABOUT TRAP DE VAL:
Embark on the Trap de Val 100-miler ride, where you'll not only conquer the 162 km green route, mostly on gravel roads with an elevation of 1238m, but also make a significant impact by supporting the Teddy Bear Foundation. This annual event, born out of a passion for cycling and a desire to help those in need, has grown from three friends riding in 2020 to 195 riders in 2025.
Our Cause
Funds raised will directly benefit the Teddy Bear Foundation for Abused Children, a renowned NGO in South Africa. The foundation has been providing comprehensive support to abused children and their families since 1986, evolving from medical examinations to a holistic approach addressing various needs.

Route:
From the Cycle Hub in the Lifestyle Centre at Thaba Trails and ending at the Val Hotel in the village of Val in Mpumalanga.
The route consists of 85% gravel roads with four water points along the way and a halfway food point.
GPX route will be provided on 6 May, 10 days before the ride.
Distance:
162 km, elevation of 1238m.
Options:
Solo: one rider doing the full distance.
Duo Team: two riders riding as a relay team, each riding half the distance.
Entries
Enter before 10 May 2026, to secure your spot in the event, and receive a complimentary goodie bag, featuring a custom Trap de Val/Teddy Bear Foundation water bottle and a handmade edible Teddy Bear medal upon completion.
Entries with shirt orders before 16 April 2026 to receive the shirt before the event,
Included in the entry is a post-ride recovery meal at Val.
Ride-only entries will close on 14 May 2026 at 12:00.
e-Bikes are welcome, so manage your power usage or arrange for a spare battery at the halfway mark.
