About:
Hangklip Athletics Club, supported by Raceday Events and BMEvents (organisers of the False Bay 50), proudly presents a fast and flat marathon (42.2 km) and half marathon (21.1 km) from Kleinmond to the Hangklip dunes and back. The scenic marathon route follows the coastal route past the Palmiet River and through Betty's Bay to the dunes before returning along equally beautiful surrounding roads. Half marathon runners will follow a similar route, with an earlier turnaround point.

Timing: 42.2 km and 21.1 km will be gun to mat.

RACE CAPACITY
42.2 km: capped at 600 runners
21.1 km: capped at 600 runners
All finishers will receive a unique medal.
Permanent race numbers will (in future) be allocated to athletes who successfully complete 10 Hangklip Marathon and/or 10 Hangklip Half Marathon races.

Race T-Shirts: As part of our race launch, special t-shirts will be on sale for R250. Please note that these will be available for purchase up till the 1st of September and/or depending on size availability.

NUMBER & T-SHIRT COLLECTIONS
Number collection will take place on the following dates, venues and times:

Saturday 24th October 10:00-16:00

**Final Instructions will be emailed and SMSed to each athlete.

Please bring your entry confirmation SMS or email and/or theirs if collecting on behalf of another runner, with you to the number collection at the store you selected on your entry form.

T-shirts not collected at your selected registration venue and date will be sold on race day towards charity. No T-Shirts will be kept or distributed after the event.

TOG BAG FACILITY
A Tog Bag facility will be at the Start/Finish. Secure the Tog Bag tear-off slip from your race bib to your bag. Only bring essential items and do not leave any valuables in the bag. This facility is used at own risk.

WATER POINTS
To help protect this scenic route and prepare for potentially difficult weather conditions, runners are encouraged to follow the method of carry your own hydration. Water points will also be available as follows:
42.2 km: 12 water stations will be available along the route, offering water and Coca-Cola in cups.
21.1 km: 6 water stations will be available along the route, offering water and Coca-Cola in cups.
A strict anti-littering policy applies. Anyone seen littering will be disqualified.

START TIME & CUT-OFFS
Sweep vehicles will be following the back runners and will be collecting runners from the cut-off points. Runners may not continue after a cut-off has been implemented.
42.2 km Single Start: 06:30
Cut-off points: 21km - 03h00; Time limit is 06h00
42.2 km Cut-off Finish Time: 12:30
21.1 km Single Start: 07:00
Cut-off points: 12km - 01h50; Time limit is 03h30
21.1 km Cut-off Finish Time: 10:30

2027 COMRADES AND TWO OCEANS MARATHON QUALIFIER
The 2026 Pam Golding Hangklip Marathon has been granted Comrades and Two Oceans Marathon qualifier status for the 2027 Comrades and Two Oceans Marathons. Race must be completed in under 05h00.

MEDICAL
GBMed-Rescue are the events official medical partners. There will be a roaming ambulance along the route and one at the finish.

PRIZE MONEY STRUCTURE FOR MALE AND FEMALE
In addition to overall (open) prizes, participants will only be eligible for an age category prize in the age they enter. Corresponding numerical age category tags must be worn on the front and back of their vest.



Podium positions will be determined by Race Referees and verified by the Peak Timing electronic timing system, based on gun to mat time for both distances.
There will be an official prize giving at 11:30 for the Half Marathon and 12:00 for the Marathon, where the category winners will receive their prize money vouchers and bank account information slips. There will also be some lucky draw prizes (please remember to place your lucky draw tear-off slip, in the box provided, at the end).

RACE CHARITY
Our race sponsor, Pam Golding Properties, invites those who are able, to support its chosen charity, the South African Transplant Sports Association (SATSA). SATSA is a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life of organ transplant recipients and promoting organ donation and transplantation through sport and physical activity.
