About: Welcome to the 30th Midvaal Fast One Road Cycle 2027!
The 30th Midvaal Fast One Road Cycle Challenge, organised by the Rotary Club of Riverside, is both a celebration of cycling and a fundraiser supporting community projects.
As a prestigious Category A National Classic, the Fast One attracts elite and licensed riders from across the region, welcoming cyclists of all abilities to enjoy a safe, well-organised and memorable ride.
Built on the Success of FastOne26
Following the highly successful FastOne26, which addressed previous concerns around potholes, facilities and rider safety, we are building on that success with an even better event in 2027:
✅ Start and finish at the Henley Model Airfield
✅ Route potholes recently repaired
✅ Two route options:
- 103 km Challenge Route
- 62 km Short Route
✅ Improved road surface on Uitvlugt Road at the start and finish
✅ Popular low-altitude-gain FastOne26 route, further enhanced for safety
✅ Water Points 24 km 38 km 54 km 74 km 94 km/ 51 km and the Finish

Important Rider Information
- NO HELMET - NO RIDE
- Online Entries close at midnight on 27 January 2027
- No entries will be accepted on race day.
- Late entries and substitutions may be processed during registration for R250.
Number Collection
All riders must collect their race numbers /race packs during the official registration period. The organisers cannot accept responsibility for delays during collection or riders arriving late at the start.

Prize Purse and Criterium Racing
The final prize purse will depend on the number of entries received. Following FastOne26, where R60 000 in prize money was awarded, we look forward to an even bigger field and prize for 2027.
The prize programme may also include a Fast One Criterium at the Henley Model Airfield. The fastest 20 riders may be invited to race an exciting 1.8 km circuit on the airstrip, providing spectators with a thrilling finish to the day's cycling. Details will be announced closer to race day.
